Job summary

Columbia Sportswear Company in Robards, Kentucky, seeks an Operations Manager for the second shift to lead the production department, optimize scheduling, and maintain safety and equipment across the line.

You will develop staff, drive continuous improvement, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure on-time delivery while meeting cost targets in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience in business/logistics/engineering.
• 2–4 years in materials management and distribution.
• 1–3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with warehouse systems and sortation/operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the assigned production department(s) and employees, including scheduling and coverage.
• Train department personnel in proper work methods and monitor adherence and performance.
• Promote safety and ensure equipment is maintained and safe to operate.
• Oversee cross-training and staff development to ensure bench strength and backup coverage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth flow of materials, product, and information.
• Set and monitor production goals across seasons and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead team communications and maintain security for personnel and assets.
