Job summary

Acumed LLC in Hillsboro, Oregon, seeks a Milling Machinist to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. The role involves loading/unloading per SOPs, ensuring quality, and maintaining a safe work area on the second shift (Mon–Thu, 3:00pm–1:30am).

Under close supervision, you’ll run 3- and 5-axis Mills, inspect surfaces, monitor performance, and coordinate with Senior Machinist and Process Engineers to improve cell processes.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years related Acumed experience, or 3–5 years external experience.
• Tooling U courses completed or enrolled in Machining Classes.
• Level 1 competencies on Acumed Machinist Career Ladder.
• demonstrated setup competency on cell-specific machine tools.
• Basic math skills and high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machine tools to maintain Quality, Cost and Delivery.
• Operates and maintains various 3- and 5-axis Mills.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Visually inspects surfaces for flaws and smoothness.
• Empties chip bins; sweeps and cleans work area and equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance.
• Set up to ensure maximum utilization.
• Work with Senior Machinist and Process Engineers to improve Cell processes.
