Job summary

Acumed LLC in Hillsboro, Oregon, seeks a Milling Machinist to set up and operate machine tools to produce precision parts. Weekend shift Fri-Sun, 5:00am–5:30pm, with responsibilities including monitoring machine performance, performing set-ups, and collaborating with Senior Machinists and Process Engineers.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of related Acumed experience or 3–5 years external experience, completion of Tooling U or machining classes, and basic math and English proficiency.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, operates production machine tools to maintain Quality, Cost and Delivery.
• Operates and maintains various 3- and 5-axis Mills.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Visually inspects surfaces for flaws and smoothness.
• Empties chip bins and cleans work area and equipment.
• Uses established practices to ensure quality during operation and documents processes.
• Monitors machine performance and reports issues.
• Performs preventative maintenance as required.
• Performs general set-ups to maximize utilization.
• Collaborates with Senior Machinist and Process Engineers to improve cell processes.
