Job summary

KiddeFenwal, LLC is seeking a skilled Machinist on the second shift in Ashland, MA. You will set up and operate lathes and milling machines, read blueprints, and perform CNC milling and turning with close-tolerance work on critical components.

You will program and operate manual and automated machines, take precise measurements, ensure quality, and maintain equipment and workspace safety in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Strong coordination and mechanical aptitude.
• Exceptional attention to detail, especially in measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, route sheets, and specifications.
• Knowledge of metal properties (brass, stainless steel, bronze, aluminum).
• Proficiency in CAD software is highly desirable.
• Strong mathematical and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes and milling machines.
• Review technical drawings, blueprints, instructions, and prove-out production parts.
• Perform all aspects of CNC machining, including setup, milling, turning, and close-tolerance manufacturing.
• Take precise measurements and determine appropriate machine settings.
• Program and operate manual, semi-automated, or automated machines (e.g. lathes, mills, grinders).
• Use precision tools (calipers, micrometers) for accurate measurement.
• Maintain stamina and lift up to 30 lbs; plan workflow for efficiency.
• Monitor operations and adjust feeds or settings as needed.
• Maintain inventory of completed components.
• Inspect output for quality assurance and address defects.
• Perform routine machine maintenance (coolant, lubricants, oils).
• Keep a clean and safe workstation.
• Support team operations by completing related tasks.
