Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, HVAC, suspension, drive train and more. The role supports drivers on routes and works with state-of-the-art fleet.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of technician experience or a recent automotive school graduate, with a valid driver’s license and ASE certifications a plus; CDL is a

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
• Knowledge of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• ASE certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3–5 years of experience or graduation from automotive school within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair chassis components and refuse bodies.
• Repair hydraulic, electrical, and braking systems.
• Perform light engine repair and general maintenance.
• Service suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Carry out on-site and road maintenance safely.
