Job summary
Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and HVAC components. You will work on Class 1-8 vehicles, diagnose issues, and provide road service when needed to keep fleets moving.
The role offers a second shift with a $5.5k sign-on bonus and a strong benefits package.
Qualifications
- Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
- Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
- Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 trucks or similar equipment.
- ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a working knowledge of vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
- Chassis component repair and maintenance.
- Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
- Light engine repair and maintenance.
- Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
- Heating and air conditioning.
- Performs welding and fabrication as needed.
- Safely provides road service to return equipment to operation.
- Identifies malfunctions using electronic tools.
- Completes required training programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
