Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Columbus, Ohio. The role offers a 3:00 pm–11:30 pm second shift, Monday–Friday with weekends off, plus competitive pay and benefits.

You will perform maintenance and repair work on heavy duty vehicles and use diagnostic tools to diagnose issues. Ryder provides medical/dental/vision coverage after 30 days, PTO, 401(k) with company match, boot allowance, and paid training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certifications preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Experience repairing automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake and tire work.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs on heavy duty vehicles.
• Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools.
• Identify root causes and replace defective components as instructed.
• Perform facility maintenance and support operations as needed.
• Interact with drivers to determine nature of complaints and plan work.
• Adhere to safety, DOT, and company policies in all tasks.
