Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines is seeking a Diesel Mechanic/Technician A to inspect, repair, and maintain our fleet of diesel and propane-powered equipment used to move freight throughout the Southeast.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and rebuilding components; you will track work orders, diagnose mechanical and electrical failures, and ensure safety and reliability of tractors, forklifts, and related gear.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• At least 6 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to satisfactorily pass background check and alcohol and drug test.
• Prior experience including Diesel Engine Repair.
• Automotive Diagnostics and Automotive Service proficiency.
• ASE Certification and Diesel Engine Certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain diesel and propane-powered equipment.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on trucks, tractors, converter gear, and forklifts.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or other types of failures.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, cooling system tests, brake adjustments, and tire inflation.
• Repair or rebuild systems of assigned equipment as needed.
