Job summary

20 Saia Motor Freight Line LLC is seeking a diesel mechanic to perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostic tasks on heavy-duty vehicles. This role covers class 6–8 tractors and requires attention to safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

The ideal candidate has 18+ years old, a high school diploma or GED, and is authorized to work in the United States. You will work a permanent schedule Wednesday-Sunday, 6:30am-3pm, with pay rates shown below and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend English to perform tasks and interact with management and the public.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains systems and parts on class 6, 7, and 8 powered tractors.
• Diagnoses failures and repairs the vehicle's mechanical, electric, and systems.
• Uses hydraulic jacks to gain access underneath vehicles.
• Assists in the replacements of engines, transmissions, differentials, and springs.
• Troubleshoots the repairs of heavy-duty truck engines, braking, electrical, and exhaust systems.
• Documents and repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborates with business partners for training and assistance on complex repairs.
• Tests vehicles after repairs to ensure they're functioning properly.
