Job summary

The University of Iowa is seeking a Supervisor, Custodian Services to lead and coordinate the work of custodians in the Second Shift Service Area on campus. The role focuses on supervision, scheduling, training, and quality control, with a Monday–Friday 4:30pm–1:30am schedule and required overtime.

Applicants should have custodial or facilities maintenance experience and supervisory exposure, plus a valid driver’s license and basic computer skills. CMMS knowledge (AiM) is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years custodial experience or related building and facilities maintenance, including supervisory experience for a minimum of six months.
• Ability to supervise daily work activities, inspect quality of work, and coordinate schedules.
• Valid Driver’s license required and ability to meet University Driving Policy Standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand all employee work assignments and schedule for adequate coverage.
• Complete time allocation for administrative and custodial tasks daily.
• Interview, select, train and evaluate staff; provide coaching and direction.
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Assist in planning procedures and improve efficiency of operations.
