Job summary

Eastern Iowa Community College District is seeking a Custodian I for the Clinton campus, Monday–Friday, 2:30 pm–11:00 pm. The role involves routine custodial duties to keep buildings orderly and safe.

You will follow prescribed procedures and may fill in for absent custodians on the same shift. The position requires custodial experience, knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Some prior custodial experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment for various surfaces and furniture.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work cooperatively with others.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust and wet mop floors daily in assigned areas.
• Wax floors, vacuum carpets, and clean windows as needed.
• Dust office furniture and window ledges.
• Empty wastebaskets daily and rearrange classroom furniture after cleaning.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and maintain supplies.
• Secure doors and windows at shift end and report maintenance needs.
• Assist with room set-ups as necessary.
