Job summary

Matrix is seeking a Second Cook for a remote mining camp in Winnemucca, NV, rotating, site-based work for a 150-occupancy camp. You will assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner service for residents and supporting from-scratch cooking and desserts production.

You will follow recipes, manage portions, maintain strict food safety, help with inventory, and assist the 1st Cook with prep and team workflow. Required: Food Handler and First Aid/Advanced First Aid certificates, MSHA certification, and

Qualifications

Experience cooking for large groups in high-volume remote camp settings.
Must have Food Handler certificate and First Aid/Advanced First Aid certification.
MSHA certification required for site access.
Ability to work as part of a team in remote/site conditions.
Strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and compliance.

Responsibilities

Assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner service for approximately 150 residents.
Support from-scratch cooking and baking/desserts production.
Prepare food according to recipes, portioning standards, and production schedules.
Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen and storage areas.
Help with food inventory: labeling, storage, and FIFO rotation under the Matrix plan.
Support the 1st Cook with kitchen organization, prep lists, and team workflow.
Follow directions promptly with a safety-first attitude.
