Job summary

State of Montana seeks a State Emergency Coordination Center (SECC) Coordinator to join the Response Bureau in Fort Harrison, MT. The role supports the state-level emergency coordination, ensuring timely information flow and documentation for incidents.

You will monitor information sources, maintain status boards, and coordinate with agencies and the National Guard. When not activated, you’ll help refine procedures and plans, support training, and assist with readiness assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in emergency management, public administration, or related field.
• Four years of professional work experience in emergency management.
• Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Must successfully pass background and driving records checks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SECC operations and maintain status boards and a common operating picture.
• Coordinate with state agencies, local jurisdictions, and National Guard partners to support incidents.
• Develop SECC procedures, response plans, and job aids when not activated; assist with training and readiness assessments.
• Support financial and documentation tracking underpinning reimbursement and accountability.
