Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services seeks an experienced SEC Reporting Consultant for a 6-8 week contract in Irvine, CA. You will lead external filings (10-Q/10-K/8-K), ensure XBRL accuracy, and prepare investor materials for a public company in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with Corporate Accounting and Legal, perform ASC 718 stock-based compensation work, and maintain SOX-compliant controls. Strong Excel skills and Wdesk/Oracle GL experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience in financial reporting, preferably with public company exposure.
• Big Four public accounting + industry experience is ideal.
• CPA license highly preferred but not required.
• Experience with Workiva Wdesk and Oracle GL is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills with ability to manipulate large data sets and build reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of external filings and internal reports such as the 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and Earnings Release in accordance with US GAAP and SEC guidelines.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of XBRL reporting on a quarterly basis.
• Prepare and tie-out Investor Relations presentations and other materials.
• Prepare stock-based compensation accounting under ASC 718, including reconciliations for grants and forfeitures, and assist in valuation of new grants.
• Prepare technical accounting research for significant or unusual transactions and document treatment in memos.
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and Legal to ensure accurate financial information and disclosures.
• Provide documentation to auditors and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain controls and documentation in compliance with SOX.
• Continuously improve processes and partner with other groups to create efficiencies in reporting.
• Support ad-hoc projects as needed.
