Job summary

Workiva Inc. in Ames, IA is seeking an SEC Reporting Consultant who acts as an accounting expert on a project basis, providing project management, XBRL data modeling, mapping, tagging, and review of XBRL filings in compliance with quality standards.

You will work across GAAP/IFRS taxonomies, ensure accurate tagging of financial statements and notes, collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive training, and support clients while travel remains minimal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting.
• CPA or CIA certification.
• Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Model the XBRL Mapping, selecting taxonomy concepts, axis and members.
• Tag values in financial statements, Notes, schedules with identified concepts.
• Determine timing and debit/credit nature of monetary values.
• Master financial reporting topics including stock-based compensation, derivatives, taxes, leases, and revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Sales, Marketing and Learning to advance training and standardize changes.

Education
