Job summary

Seattle Credit Union in the Seattle area is seeking an External Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage loans and build a strong referral network, helping members achieve homeownership with competitive products.

You will work with a collaborative team, adhere to state and federal mortgage laws, and manage a pipeline to ensure timely disclosures and closings while delivering excellent member service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years residential lending sales experience with meeting sales goals
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Ability to analyze personal and business financial documents
• Knowledge of mortgage regulatory issues (RESPA, Reg Z, HMDA, Reg B)
• Associates Degree or higher
• Independent work and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans compliant with investor guidelines and policy
• Meet minimum sales production goals set by management
• Develop and maintain referral networks (Realtors, Attorneys, Accountants, Builders)
• Promote products to referrals and build mortgage business
• Pre-qualify borrowers and match programs
• Coordinate homebuyer events and workshops
• Ensure timely loan disclosures and compliance with RESPA/Reg Z/HMDA/Reg B
• Maintain product knowledge and market regulations
• Manage pipeline with processor to meet closing dates
• Demonstrate SCU values and provide excellent member service
• Travel to events as needed
• Office-based and field duties as assigned
