Job summary

Arup’s Northwest Rail team in Seattle is seeking a Northwest Major Projects Lead to provide senior engineering leadership across large rail and transit programs in the U.S. and Canada.

The role combines multidisciplinary design leadership with strong client relationships and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, safe, and sustainable outcomes. You will mentor leaders, oversee program performance (schedule, budget, risk), and shape business development while acting as a senior Arup

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering with 15+ years of senior leadership across complex infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Experience leading complex rail/infra programs with design‑build or similar delivery.
• Proven ability to manage senior client stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-ground senior leadership to multidisciplinary teams delivering major rail programs.
• Champion quality assurance, governance, and risk management across projects.
• Shape business development and grow Arup’s rail portfolio with key clients and partners.
• Act as a senior Arup representative with regional rail market stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop project and technical leaders through performance reviews and promotions.
• Provide strategic oversight of program performance across schedule, budget, and risk.
