Job summary

Everett Ship Repair is seeking an Experienced Shipfitter Journeyman to join our fabrication team in Everett, WA. You will focus on constructing, assembling, and finishing structural elements of marine vessels, reading blueprints, and maintaining quality in a startup environment.

The role requires 3+ years in shipbuilding or metal fabrication, basic MIG/TIG/Stick welding, and ability to lift 50 lbs and work up to 60 ft heights.

Qualifications

• 3+ years shipbuilding or metal working experience in a marine environment
• Basic welding skills (MiG, TIG, Stick)
• High School education or equivalent
• Ability to understand and apply basic math
• Ability to read, interpret and work from drawings/blueprints
• Knowledge of tools used in metal fabrication (torches, saws, bandsaws, rollers, presses, shears)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights up to 60 ft
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and skills test

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, form, and fit metal structures for marine vessels in construction and rebuilds.
• Work in fabrication shop, modular jigs, or on assemblies.
• Layout, cut, form, prepare, and perform final assembly.
• Use power and hand tools (grinder, level, tape measure).
• Lay out/build jigs for modules and superstructures.
• Work from engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Tack weld with MiG/Arc welding as needed.
• Operate metal forming equipment (shears, rollers, etc.).
• Use cutting torches and plasma cutters.
• Collaborate with crew and maintain safety practices.
• Support apprentices and team through knowledge sharing.
