Job summary

Everett Ship Repair seeks an Experienced Pipe Welder Journeyman to create pipe spools and pipe system assemblies for new ship construction, repair, and marine projects. Welds include carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys, with emphasis on precision and safety.

Responsibilities include welding seams in multiple orientations, grinding prep, and setting up arc welders. The role requires 5+ years of experience, 6-G ABS/USCG certs preferred, and ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights up

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of shipyard safety practices, vessel terminology and the use of lifts.
• High School Education or equivalent or vocational training.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Pipe Welder.
• 6-G ABS or USCG Certifications in Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Copper Nickel (preferred).
• Marine Pipe Welding Experience (preferred).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; work at heights up to 60 ft; enter confined spaces with respirator.
• Good verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Weld out piping spools, pipe runs, and manifolds using stick welding (80%), MIG/TIG (20%).
• Weld pipe seams in various orientations and joints (fillet, butt, socket, mitered).
• Perform welds using 6GR testing and practical procedures.
• Grind and prep weld seams for finishing and inspection.
• Set up arc welder for root passes and repairs.
• Perform Air Arc operations or grinders to back gouge welds.
• Weld alloys including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper nickel.
• Work as part of a team and perform other tasks as directed.
