Job summary

Grand Traverse Resort is seeking an experienced bartender to join its beverage team. You will prepare standard mixed drinks, pour wine and beer, and serve guests at lounge and restaurant bars.

You must handle orders from guests and servers, maintain speed and accuracy while minimizing waste, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere. The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma, TIPS certification within 90 days, and solid knowledge of beer, wine and liquor.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older as required by law.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• TIPS certification or obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Strong knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
• Previous bartending experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality products, excellent service and a friendly atmosphere for all guests.
• Operate MICROS Computer System.
• Prepare drink orders given from Servers.
• Mix cocktails and other drinks; prep coffee drinks as needed.
• Serve wine and draft or bottled beer.
• Stock bar supplies and garnishes; maintain sanitation and safety.
• Balance shift ending paperwork and daily cash drop; end-of-shift tasks.
• Present check and explain payment methods and discounts.
• Maintain open communication with supervisor and follow environmental practices.
