Job summary

Chloeta is seeking a Seasonal Engine Captain to participate in wildfire prevention and mitigation work for structure protection. The role focuses on property insurance protection rather than suppression, and Captains lead their crews in training, engine maintenance, wildfire staging, homeowner assessments, data collection and prescribed burn assignments.

From the home of record, travel up to 90-100% is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Satisfactory performance as a Firefighter.
• Knowledge of Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct operations following IRPG and incident objectives.
• Perform WUI structure protection tasks for local jurisdictions.
• Collect daily data on threatened policies and enter into company databases.
• Receive and execute daily work assignments from leaders.
• Maintain proficiency in fire suppression and prevention tactics.
• Lead the engine crew to safely complete tasks.
