Job summary

Chloeta is seeking an experienced Call When Needed Engine Captain (Engine Boss) to participate in wildfire prevention and mitigation work focused on structure protection. You will lead crews, perform data collection, and coordinate prescribed burn assignments with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include training, engine maintenance, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting while traveling up to 90–100% across the United States.

Qualifications

  • Must have current/valid State Issued Driver License with 3 years driving history.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • DOT Medical Examiner’s Certification, verified by the FMCSA.
  • ICS 100 and 200, IS 700 and 800, L180, S130 and 190, RT130, S230 or S231 and S290.
  • PMS 311-123 completed and qualified NWCG Engine Boss, Single Resource Task Book.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct operations per IRPG, incident objectives, and agency guidance.
  • Perform WUI structure protection tasks for local jurisdictions and State Protection missions.
  • Conduct daily data collection on threatened policies and enter data into company databases.
  • Receive and execute daily work assignments from Battalion Chiefs or higher authority.
  • Lead the engine crew to safely complete tasks and ensure punctuality.
