Job summary

State of Michigan's MDOT Bay Region is seeking Transportation Maintenance Worker positions for the winter maintenance season, October through April. These are limited-term, full‑time roles under the supervision of a Transportation Maintenance Lead Worker, performing maintenance on state trunk lines and operating heavy equipment up to GVWR 26,001+ lb.

Compensation reflects entry to experienced levels (6–E8), with review based on education and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Group A with N or X endorsement required.
• No air brake restrictions; obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain state trunk lines in the Bay Region within assigned area.
• Operate heavy equipment (GVWR 26,001+ lb) safely.
• Participate in MDOT TMW Work Element training/program.
