A leading remote staffing firm is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to support clients in navigating taxation complexities. This fully remote position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience filing federal and state tax returns using commercial software and excellent customer service skills. Candidates must hold an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) and be available to work at least 20 hours per week. This position emphasizes professionalism and reliability in customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of paid experience filing 30 or more federal and state individual 1040 tax returns using commercial tax preparation software.
• Ability to obtain related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds and an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
• Must have (or be willing to obtain) an internet connection that meets Security criteria.

Upto $31/hr on W2

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: [$30/hr-$31/hr]. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable, and safe manner.
• You will utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to seek out and deliver the right answer to the customer using everyday language.
• This is a virtual, customer-facing role, so you will use our state of the art video communication software to interact with customers in a responsible, reliable and safe manner, and you will document interactions to maintain accurate records.
• Interact with customers and team members in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• As a Tax Associate, you have a minimum of 2 years of paid experience filing 30 or more federal and state individual 1040 tax returns, using commercial tax preparation software.
