Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet clients, gather information, and prepare returns with support from experienced teammates. Training begins on day one, with opportunities to grow earnings as tax knowledge increases.

No prior tax experience required. Availability for evenings and weekends during peak periods is a plus, with 15–40 hours per week potential. Competitive hourly pay included.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
