Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in Washington. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates. You will explain tax information clearly and help clients understand opportunities for savings, while building lasting relationships.

No prior tax experience required; training starts day one. This in-person role offers an hourly pay range and opportunities to grow with increased tax

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course1
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
