Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work on-site in Washington. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with guidance from experienced teammates. You’ll explain tax details clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships.

Training is provided, with pay reflecting experience and performance in a busy tax season. No prior tax experience is required.

Qualifications

Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

Greet clients and gather information to understand their tax situation.
Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
Explain tax information clearly and provide understandable recommendations.
Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services.
Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
