Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in Washington. You will gather client information, prepare tax returns, and explain tax concepts with training from day one.

No prior tax experience is required, and you will earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain knowledge. In this in-person role, you will meet clients, apply problem-solving skills, and build strong relationships while supporting office priorities through

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent training.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in an easily understandable way.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance and resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
