H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate in Illinois to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and guidance while building strong client relationships.

No prior tax experience is required, as training is provided. You’ll earn an hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings during peak tax seasons through knowledge growth and performance.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving: organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems incl. AI-based tools.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products/services.
