Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate in Illinois to work in person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns with training, and answer questions while building client relationships.

No prior tax experience is required; training starts on day one. You will identify tax savings opportunities and recommend products and services, collaborating with teammates to deliver accurate returns and excellent client service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course is required.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and relevant products and services.
• Analyze client information and address questions with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
