Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in person. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and support from teammates.

No prior tax experience is required; you will learn on the job and have opportunities to grow earnings as you build tax knowledge. Availability includes evenings and weekends during tax season, with 15–40 hours per week during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent
• Experience in a service-oriented environment with customers
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills with ability to organize information and identify solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
