Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns with training, and answer questions while building client relationships. No prior tax experience is required; training and support are provided.

You will work 15–35 hours per week, with up to 40 hours during peak periods, and earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools.
• Availability for 15–35 hours per week, evenings and weekends during tax season.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and suggest relevant products and services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
