Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office in Massachusetts. You will welcome clients, gather information, and prepare returns with support from experienced teammates while explaining tax concepts clearly and identifying potential savings opportunities.

No prior tax experience is required, and training is provided. The role offers an hourly pay range and opportunities to grow earnings as tax knowledge expands, with evening and weekend availability

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
