Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare returns with training from day one, earning an hourly wage and opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge.

This in-person role emphasizes client service and teamwork. Hours are 15–35 per week with up to 40 hours during peak season; evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
