Job summary

H&R Block in Illinois is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services. No prior tax experience required; training and support provided as you gather information and prepare returns at a local office.

You’ll meet with clients, explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong relationships through teamwork and a client-first approach. This in-person role offers an hourly pay range of $14.45–$18.00 with opportunities to increase

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
