Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office in Illinois. You will gather client information, prepare tax returns with support from experienced teammates, and explain tax information clearly to help clients understand their options.

No prior tax experience is required as training is provided. This role offers an hourly wage with the potential to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows, and requires 15–40 hours per week during peak periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course is required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Analyze client information and address questions with guidance from available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
