Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate in Massachusetts. You’ll work with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and explain tax concepts with training and support from day one. No prior tax experience required. This in-person role offers a competitive hourly rate and opportunities to increase earnings as you gain tax knowledge.

You’ll meet with clients in a local tax office, qualify for benefits, and contribute to a team-focused, client-first environment during tax season.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent training.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to ask questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information to find solutions.
• Comfort using AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
