Job summary

H&R Block in Waldorf, MD is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to meet with clients, gather information, and prepare complete tax returns with training and guidance from experienced teammates.

You will explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships while supporting office priorities through teamwork. This in-person role offers an hourly rate and opportunities to increase earnings with tax knowledge growth.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
