Job summary

Palisades Tahoe is seeking a Sous Chef to supervise and coordinate activities for the culinary team across multiple venues. The seasonal, full-time role supports operations on both sides of the resort and requires leadership in the absence of the chef.

You will oversee menu execution, inventory, and staff scheduling while ensuring health and sanitation standards are met. A minimum of two years Sous Chef experience and a valid CA Food Handler’s Manager Card are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years Sous Chef experience.
• Must obtain CA Food Handler’s Manager Card.
• Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the culinary team across venues.
• Schedule, recruit and train staff; oversee weekly rosters.
• Oversee menu production, cooking levels, plating and portions.
• Manage inventory, stocking and vendor receiving.
• Ensure health, sanitation, and safety compliance at all times.
• Plan and execute events for internal and external guests.
• Assist in ordering and storage of kitchen items.
