Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company is seeking a Chef to lead culinary operations at Palisades Tahoe's Gold Coast or High Camp venues. You will oversee kitchens, concepts, and food production, developing menus, recipes, and production standards while building a strong hospitality culture.

You will lead 20–50 culinary teammates, drive cost controls, safety, and waste-reduction initiatives, and collaborate with Front of House and venue leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Lead culinary operations across venues, maintaining food quality and guest hospitality.
• Develop menus, recipes and production standards.
• Lead and develop a 20-50 person culinary team; recruit, train, evaluate.
• Manage food costs, inventory, and waste reduction.
• Ensure safety, sanitation and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with Front of House and venue leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead Culinary Operations: Achieve kitchen objectives and maintain standards for quality, production, sanitation, hospitality, and guest service.
• Build a strong employee experience: create a welcoming and engaging workplace.
• Manage and develop team performance: recruit, train, coach, and evaluate culinary staff.
• Drive hospitality and guest experience: ensure the team delivers Palisades Tahoe hospitality.
• Oversee menu development and execution: plan menus, recipes, and seasonal offerings.
• Manage purchasing, receiving, and inventory; maintain appropriate stock levels.
