Job summary

The PRN Shelter Operations Floater supports 24/7 shelter operations across multiple functional areas, including direct guest support, safety monitoring, fire watch, janitorial and facility support, documentation, and basic case management. The role maintains safety, sanitation, guest wellbeing, and operational continuity during emergency shelter operations and high-need staffing periods.

PRN staff may be assigned based on site needs, training, experience, and coverage requirements while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass applicable background checks.
• Experience in shelter services, security, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible operational coverage across shelter programs, including shelter attendant duties, janitorial support, safety and security functions, fire watch, administrative documentation, and basic case management support.
• Complete assigned shift documentation, logs, reports, and required compliance records accurately and on time.
• Follow site procedures for safety, privacy, and emergency operating protocols.
• Complete onboarding, training, certifications, and compliance requirements within 90 days of assignment.
• Perform other duties to support safe, effective, and compliant shelter operations.
• Provide welcoming, trauma-informed assistance to shelter guests and maintain logs.
