Job summary

Palmas Restaurant Group is seeking a Server for our Disney World location in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The role requires delivering exceptional guest experiences in a high-volume, upscale setting at the Mexico Pavilion’s San Angel Inn—La Hacienda Restaurant.

Candidates must be culturally authentic to Mexico, fluent in English, and able to explain Mexican history, customs, and cuisine to guests. The position is seasonal, with duties ranging from greeting guests to upselling items and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of restaurant serving experience.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Mexican cuisine and beverages a plus.
• Must have or be able to obtain a State of Florida Food Safety Certificate.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Florida Responsible Vendors Certificate.
• Must be well versed in food safety - including proper techniques for handling food and personal hygiene requirements.
• Must be well versed in laws and company practices regarding the safe and legal service of alcoholic beverages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare assigned table section for guest arrival
• Know and be able to explain all food and beverage items on the menus
• Know and be able to explain any featured items or specials
• Politely greet guests in a timely fashion
• Lead guests through the restaurant menus and make appropriate menu suggestions
• Suggestively sell and upsell menu items as appropriate
• Answer any guest questions as necessary
• Ring guest orders accurately into the POS system
• Deliver each course to the guests in a timely fashion
• Observe proper service procedures when serving food and beverage items
• Follow up with guests at appropriate times to ensure satisfaction and refill beverages
• Clear tables of unnecessary items at appropriate times
• Process guest payments accurately and quickly following company cash handling procedures
• Complete all assigned opening and closing duties
• Display proper food safety procedures at all times
• Follow all necessary laws and processes for the safe service of alcohol
• Work closely with all other team members and display good teamwork
• Follow the Disney 5-Keys Basics, Service Basics and Company Guidelines at all times
• All other tasks as assigned
