Job summary

Sur La Table in Ann Arbor is seeking a Seasonal Sales Associate to inspire customers throughout their culinary journey, support daily store operations, and help drive sales with product knowledge.

You will engage guests, maintain brand standards, process transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment. Availability of 12–16 hours per week including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of employment.
• 1 year of retail sales experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty
• Actively engage customers, identify their needs, recommend relevant products or experiences, and leading a guest-focused culture
• Maximize selling opportunities by identifying customer needs and offering relevant solutions
• Promote add-on sales and support events that grow store traffic and customer engagement
• Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales goals, contributing to store revenue
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, inclusive store culture
• Assist in onboarding of new associates by sharing product knowledge and best practices
• Process transactions accurately using the POS system
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and floor replenishment
• Complete inventory transactions including receiving, MOS, and RARs
• Adhere to wage and hour laws and follow SOPs
• Models and communicates Sur La Table policies effectively to associates
