Job summary

The Langham Chicago is seeking a courteous and professional server to provide exceptional guest service in our Pavilion Restaurant. You will ensure accurate table setups, describe dishes clearly and work with the outlet team to maintain high service standards.

You will assist bartenders, monitor cleanliness, and respond to guest inquiries about local information while upholding Langham Hospitality Group and Forbes standards. Previous food & beverage experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food and beverages preparation.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife, glassware and bottles and to scoop ice.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English to communicate with guests and staff.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items.
• Ability to stand and work for long periods.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffeemaker and iced tea machine.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper set-ups for tables in assigned sections with attention to details.
• Inspect linen, silver, china and other table items for cleanliness and appearance.
• Serve food, coffee, water and other beverages to guests.
• Cooperate with restaurant team including servers, porters and kitchen staff.
• Run food to tables and explain dish components clearly.
• Assist bartenders with bar setup and replenishment.
• Clear and reset tables as needed.
• Communicate with restaurant management daily.
• Maintain cleanliness of restaurant area during and after service.
• Be a positive team player and handle large tasks.
