Job summary

Zoo New England is seeking a Park Service Associate to maintain grounds, clean facilities, and assist with events. You will follow cleaning protocols, wear PPE, work outdoors in varying weather, and communicate professionally with guests and staff.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, flexible schedules for seasonal needs, and adherence to training requirements. Experience in custodial tasks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and restock restroom facilities throughout the Zoo.

• Shovel snow and sand walkways due to snow and ice accumulations.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance duties as needed.
• Attend company and departmental meetings for training and information.

Essential Job Functions

Performs duties associated with the upkeep, maintenance, care, beautification and cleaning of ZNE’s grounds, roadways and buildings. These tasks require the ability to follow cleaning protocols, wear required Personal Protection Equipment and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. The ability to work outside in changing weather conditions is a requirement. In addition, the ability to communicate professionally to Zoo guests and employees is also a requirement of this position. The Park Service Associate position is subject to a change in work schedule with reasonable notice based on operational and seasonal needs of the department. Must pass ZNE’s online driver’s test offered by ZNE’s liability insurance carrier.

Duties & Responsibilities

Preferred Job Requirements

• A valid Massachusetts driver’s license in good standing.
• 1 year of custodial experience.
• Fluent in verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Prior work experience in a Not-for-Profit environment.
