Job summary

Michaels is hiring at our Vernon Hills, IL location for a customer-focused store associate. You will help customers find products, answer questions, and provide a fast, friendly checkout experience with accurate cash handling.

You will also participate in omni-channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship From Store, stock shelves, unload trucks, and maintain planograms to keep the store well-merchandised and in-stock.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions.
• Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience; cash handling to standards.
• Engage customers on the Rewards program enrollment and Private Label Credit Card signups.
• Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
• Stocking, unloading trucks, and maintaining planograms (POGs).
• Complete merchandise recovery and in-stock fulfillment; support store recovery.
• Support shrink and safety programs; adhere to SOPs and company policies.
• Interpersonal interactions: stay positive, respectful, and set a good example for team members.
• Cross-trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
