Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a full-time seasonal Scribe to document patient visits in the EMR and support physicians in an urgent care setting. The role emphasizes accuracy, speed, and compassionate patient care, with a typical 8–12 hour shift and an anticipated end date of 01/29/2027.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED (undergraduate degree a plus) and strong communication skills, with bilingual abilities preferred by site. BLS certification is required at hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; undergraduate degree a plus.
• Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner.
• Flexible with full-time schedule including a weekend day.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• English language (speaking and writing) skills required.
• High attention to detail; strong aptitude for detail.
• Team player with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of third-party payor requirements preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred depending on site location.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Capture accurate documentation of patient visits into the EMR.
• Assist the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures.
• Direct patient flow, inventory, and follow up on labs.
• Ensure DOH compliance of site lab and exam rooms.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, x-rays, or other facilities.
• Maintain a quick pace in an urgent care setting during shifts (8–12 hours).
• Facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals via Aftercare.
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians by phone.
• Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional environment.
• Ensure the site is fully stocked with supplies.
• Provide compassionate care to patients.
