Job summary

VillageMD in Edgewater, NJ is seeking a full-time seasonal Scribe to support physicians in an urgent care setting. Anticipated end date 02/27/2027. You will capture accurate documentation of patient visits in the EMR and assist with basic patient care and procedures.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, strong communication, attention to detail, and flexibility including weekends. BLS certification at hire and bilingual skills preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; degree a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Flexible with full-time schedule including weekends.
• English language skills required.
• Attention to detail and compassion.
• Ability to work in fast-paced urgent care.
• BLS certification at time of hire.
• Bilingual preferred based on site location.
• Team player with professional bedside manner.
• Knowledge of third‑party payor requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with basic patient care and procedures (e.g., UA, labs, EKG, etc.).
• Ensure DOH compliance of lab and exam rooms.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, x-rays or facilities on site.
• Maintain quick pace in fast-paced urgent care facility.
• Coordinate diagnostic tests and referrals via Aftercare.
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians by phone.
• Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional environment.
• Keep site stocked with supplies.
• Provide compassionate patient care.
