The City of Plymouth is now accepting applications for Seasonal Utilities Maintenance Workers to join our Public Works Utilities Division team. This is a great opportunity to gain relevant municipal public works utilities experience and a great job for those seeking short-term employment with flexible scheduling. This position is scheduled up to 40 hours per week from April to October, weather dependent.
The Seasonal Utilities Maintenance Worker will perform or assist in a wide variety of municipal sewer, water and drainage system installation, maintenance and repair functions using motorized equipment, hand and power tools in a manner which will ensure safe, economical, effective and timely results.
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
Conduct various preventative maintenance activities on municipal water system.
Maintains appropriate records relating to each program
Assists in water distribution system repair and replacement.
Performs preventative maintenance functions on sanitary sewer system.
Assists in sanitary sewer repair and replacement
Responds to customer service requests and system malfunction alarms
Performs storm sewer/storm water drainage way maintenance, repair and installations
Equipment uses and operations
Operates GPS locating equipment
Keeps supervisor promptly informed of all significant matters he/she must know to perform his/her position responsibilities effectively
Performs or assists in other duties and responsibilities as apparent or assigned

The employee must be able to lift items weighing 0 – 85 from 0 – 3 feet. The employee must be able to carry items weighing 0 – 50 pounds from 0 – 15 feet. The employee must be able to lift/carry items such as tools, valves, hydrant parts and manhole parts
