Position Summary

Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote, customer-facing role, primarily working inside hospitals. You will troubleshoot and repair medical equipment.

Ideal candidates have experience in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, equipment repair, diesel and automotive repair, aviation repair, plumbing, electrical, etc. This is a remote, customer-facing position requiring candidates to be based in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Indiana, Illinois, or Nebraska.

This role involves heavy travel, up to 75%, including overnight stays Monday through Friday, with some weekends. Travel will be within the specified states.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment.
• Manage time effectively to complete service calls, maintenance, installations, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues and document troubleshooting efforts.
• Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options, and identify sales opportunities.
• Support various locations within the assigned territory based on customer needs.

Required Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant work experience, including 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. Certifications or military experience may be considered.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and physical requirements.
• Customer service and team engagement experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (MS Windows, email, mobile apps).
• Flexibility to work early/late hours and overnight travel as needed.

The pay range is $47,750 - $66,937.50, with eligibility for bonuses. Pay rates depend on experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
